My Husband was working one night about 40 miles from home, when our truck lost power and stopped dead in the road. Since we only had one car at the time, he called someone at work. She came right away to pick him up and he made it to work, barely on time. She happened to live about 20 miles south of the job and , as you know, we lived 40 miles to the north.
The next day, since Ron worked the overnight shift, The girl gave him a ride home and asked him if he wanted to borrow her truck until ours could get fixed. We didn't have all that much money at the time, so we had no idea how or when we would be able to get the truck back running again. She told us not to worry about it: That we could keep the truck as long as we needed it!
We were incredulous at this random act of kindness!
She told us that all we had to do to keep the truck was to drive the 60 miles to her house every Tuesday, so that her husband and mine could bring their trash to the dump, and have dinner with them! We could not believe this turn of events! If Dee hadn't let Ron borrow the truck , he would have been out of a job! A whole succession of things would have transpired, but didn't because of Dee's kindness!
We had the truck for 3 or 4 months until we could get our truck fixed. When we finally did get it working again, we brought that truck back to them.
These people; Dee and her husband were our angels. They came to our rescue when we needed it and we were the most grateful people on earth at that time!
They never asked for anything in return. These are the kinds of people that everyone should aspire to be!

I had the unfortunate task of going to the DMV post cash-for-clunkers yesterday. I found myself next to a woman who had been there for more than two hours. She would go up to the desk and ask why her number hadn't been called and the lady would just give her another number. Realizing that I had only been there 45 mins and my number was almost up I walked over to the desk and requested someone please come over and help this poor woman. Turns out she was there for a handicap pass and was supposed to be in a different area. Would have been nice for the lady behind the desk to point this out. Anyhoo, she got to the right spot and got called within minutes.
When my number came up I ended up with a really nice woman who seemed to be in no hurry. She took quite a while to process my forms and I was starting to get a little annoyed but I just waited it out. Turns out there was a glitch with my order and she was trying to fix it so she could save me more than $100 bucks. She finally came back to the desk and said "i just saved you $140 dollars"
good begets good
