This is a fantastic post and I don't think it's too long at all. I know Mari and think she's a doll (of course I only know her from Twitter) and I'm jealous that you got to meet her before I did.

I agree completely with what you say here and believe that success in the social media realm – of all kinds – only has to do what what kind of a person you are inside and how you use what you know to help others. Anything else is just marketing, and people are tired of being marketed to.

Great thoughts, clearly from the heart and very much appreciated.

I'm so happy to read your example of “Pay It Forward”. My husband and I have been doing this for years. It's such an easy thing to do and what a great reminder for the car behind us that there is much generosity out there…
